Photo entries required for 2017 Wikipedia Monuments Campaign USA

Wikkipedia has opened it’s photography contest, for monuments this year 2017. And this time,  would feature  only snaps of national monuments across the united states of America.  This project, one of many around the globe seeks  to invite anyone, and everyone, with a camera to participate;  uploading their photographs to the Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia and other free knowledge projects.

Participants are expected to submit their photos for reviews and follow the guidelines necessary for valid entries here.

Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2016_in_the_United_States_-_Banner

The project, WikiLove monuments is an annual events where participants capture registered cultural heritage monuments across the world, and run till the end of September.Last year featured 15 finalists ranging from Pakistan to  Germany.

More than 10,700 photographers participated last year, submitting over 275,000 photographs of historic buildings, monuments, and cultural heritage sites to both the Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia, Wikivoyage, and other free knowledge projects.
